Gomel enterprises, Tajik enterprises eager to team up to make agricultural equipment

GOMEL, 2 June (BelTA) – Gomel enterprises and enterprises of Tajikistan intend to start the joint production of equipment for agriculture and intend to set up a center for repairs and maintenance of agricultural machines. The possibilities were discussed as a Tajik delegation visited OAO Gomelagrokomplekt and OAO Gomeloblagroservis, BelTA has learned.

Deputy Agriculture Minister of Tajikistan Zevarsho Zevarshoyev remarked that the visit was part of the delegation's work at the international forum Belagro 2021. In his words, over 70% of the tractors and equipment Tajikistan uses have been made in Belarus. Although the market is saturated with other manufacturers, farmers prefer machines and equipment of Belarusian make. “We have a long queue to buy products made by Minsk enterprises, Gomel enterprises, and other Belarusian enterprises,” the official said.

While in Gomel Oblast Tajikistan's representatives were made familiar with the operation of local enterprises, took a close look at their products, and looked into prospects of setting up joint ventures.

Gomelagrokomplekt Director General Aleksandr Stribuk told media that Gomel milking machines had already been appreciated in Tajikistan. “We intend to start making equipment for agriculture in Tajikistan under our supervision and sell it in Tajikistan and neighboring countries. We intend to implement the plans this year. The colleagues are now evaluating our potential and deciding what they can make and what sells well,” the executive specified.

Plans concerning joint work were also discussed as the delegation visited OAO Gomeloblagroservis. “We are interested in advancing our relations on mutually beneficial and economically justified terms. The partners are interested in our experience and the technological process of equipment repairs. There is an intention to open a joint service center in Tajikistan,” the company's Director General Aleksandr Torop said.

First Deputy Chairman of the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee Igor Chesnok added that Tajik partners think highly of manufacturing standards of the Gomel-based enterprises, of their technologies, personnel training, and the experience of work on the aftermarket of agricultural machines and equipment.

His words were confirmed by Deputy Director of the Tajikagroleasing enterprise Batir Muminov: “In our oblasts we are intent on introducing the new machines Belarus now makes and on organizing aftersales service and repairs. We would like to borrow the cutting-edge technologies Belarus has today, invite your specialists, and fruitfully cooperate in the agrarian sphere.”
