Ganja Automobile Plant eager to assemble over 1,200 Belarusian tractors in 2021

BAKU, 13 April (BelTA) – Ganja Automobile Plant intends to assemble over 1,200 Belarusian tractors in 2021, BelTA learned from Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Azerbaijan Andrei Ravkov on 13 April.

The ambassador described the enterprise operating in the Azerbaijani city of Ganja to assemble Belarusian vehicles and machines as a pillar of the export potential. Since 2007 Ganja Automobile Plant has assembled over 11,500 Belarusian tractors as well as about 3,500 vehicles and machines made by the Belarusian companies MAZ, Amkodor, Belkommunmash, and Gomselmash. Both countries are interested in the development of manufacturing cooperation, the ambassador stressed.

In his words, Ganja Automobile Plant has already bought 275 MTZ tractor assembly kits for the year 2021 and the tractors are being assembled. A contract on supplying 450 tractor assembly kits was signed in March. There are plans to sign another contract on supplying 550 tractor assembly kits. As a result, Ganja Automobile Plant will assemble 1,275 tractors per annum. “It is a good sum, all things considered,” Andrei Ravkov noted.

The sides also intend to restore the volume of production of other Belarusian vehicles and machines. The idea of selling the jointly assembled vehicles to Turkey is under consideration.
