Furniture export by Belarusian Ivatsevichdrev 16% up in January-July

BREST, 25 August (BelTA) – In January-July 2020 OAO Ivatsevichdrev increased furniture export by 16% in comparison with the same period of last year, BelTA learned from the company's Director General Aleksandr Ilnitsky.

In January-July 2020 the company made Br70.9 million worth of wood particleboards and laminated wood particleboards, furniture, and sawn timber. Over 60% of the merchandise was exported to earn $17.9 million. The executive said: “It was hard during the pandemic but the team made it. We've managed to keep up the output at last year's level and we haven't lost trade links with our partners.”

Ivatsevichdrev is now busy developing furniture production. In January-July 2020 furniture production increased by 40% year on year. Furniture export increased as well to $635,000 in January-July 2020, up from $532,000 in January-July 2019. The Ivatsevichdrev furniture is primarily shipped to Poland and Russia. Export to Latvia and Kazakhstan has increased considerably. The company has started exploring the French market as well.

The executive continued: “We are intent on increasing the output. Including thanks to the preferences we received when we became part of the free economic zone Brest. We intend to further modernize the furniture manufacturing division. A new line will reach the designed output capacity by the end of the year. It will allow us to triple the output of cabinet furniture.” The company may buy another cabinet furniture manufacturing line in the future.
