Foreign investments in Belarus at $5.1bn in H1 2019

MINSK, 13 August (BelTA) – In the first half of 2019, foreign investors injected $5.1 billion in the real economy sector of Belarus (except for banks), BelTA learned from the National Statistics Committee of Belarus.

The main investors included economic entities of Russia (44.7% of the total investment), the UK (20.4%), and Cyprus (8.2%).

Foreign direct investments amounted to $3.9 billion.

In January-June of 2019, Belarusian organizations (except for banks) invested $2.8 billion abroad. The bulk of investments went to economic entities of Russia (62%), Ukraine (14.3%), and the UK (10.3%). Direct investments accounted for 91.8% of the total investment earmarked abroad.
