MINSK, 14 May (BelTA) – In January-March 2019 foreign investors injected $3 billion in the real economic sector of Belarus (except for banks), BelTA learned from the National Statistics Committee.
The major investors included economic entities of Russia (40.9% of the total investment), the UK (20%), and Cyprus (10.8%).
FDI made up $2.5 billion, or 83.8% of the total foreign investment.
In January-March 2019, Belarusian organizations (except for banks) invested $1.4 billion abroad. The bulk of investment went to economic entities of Russia (62.5% of the total investment), the UK (13.7%), and Ukraine (12.3%). FDI accounted for 92.9% of the total investment earmarked abroad.
