MINSK, 7 September (BelTA) – In January-August 2020, Belarusians bought $1.496 billion worth of foreign currency more than they sold, BelTA learned from the statistics released by the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus (NBRB).
In January-August 2020, individuals bought the equivalent of $6.873 billion in cash and cashless forms and sold $5.377 billion worth of foreign currency. The net purchase of foreign currency by individuals came at $1.496 billion.
Belarusian economic entities bought the equivalent of $15.383 billion and sold $13.985 billion worth of foreign currency.
Non-residents of Belarus bought $176 million worth of foreign currency and sold $531.8 million.
