Food production in Belarus up 3.6% in January-October 2020

MINSK, 5 January (BelTA) – In January-October 2020, food production in Belarus went up 3.6% from the same period in 2019, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.

“In January-October 2020, dairy output increased by 6%, including whole milk products - by 5.8%, butter - by 3.7%, cheese (except for processed cheese) - by 10.5%, curds and cottage cheese products - by 5.2%, milk powder and cream - 6.7%, condensed milk and cream - 27.4%. The production of meat and meat products was up 5.5% in January-October,” the ministry said.

According to the press service, the country's agricultural organizations keep the tendency to improve financial results. “Proceeds from the sale of products in January-October exceeded the corresponding period of the previous year by 14.2%. The growth of profit from sales amounted to 20.2%, the profitability of sales was at 5.8% (it was 5.5% in January-October 2019),” the ministry said.
