Finance Ministry: Over $1.5 billion has been borrowed so far this year

MINSK, 25 June (BelTA) – The total volume of money borrowed on the home market and abroad has exceeded $1.5 billion since the beginning of the year, BelTA learned from Finance Minister Yuri Seliverstov in the parliament on 25 June.

The finance minister talked about the implementation of plans to borrow over $1.5 billion. “In spring we raised funds on the Moscow Exchange and on the home market. The total borrowed volume was close to $300 million,” he said.

Apart from that, according to Yuri Seliverstov, literally last week they ensured the execution of the deal to float $1.25 billion worth of eurobonds at the London Exchange. Of that $750 million will be borrowed for a period of ten years and $500 million will be borrowed for a period of five years.

There are also plans to raise about $500 million on the home market with assistance of Russian banks, Yuri Seliverstov added.
