GRODNO, 13 August (BelTA) – In H1 the Free Economic Zone Grodnoinvest posted an increase in exports and geography of deliveries, BelTA learned from the FEZ Grodnoinvest administration.
In January-June the FEZ Grodnoinvest resident companies exported $455 million worth of goods, which was up 12% year-on-year. The geography of deliveries expanded from 51 to 57 countries.
The FEZ Grodnoinvest resident companies accounted for 42% of Grodno Oblast's total exports. Major sales markets were Russia, Poland and Ukraine accounting for 87% of the FEZ Grodnoinvest's total exports. Other large importers included Kazakhstan, Romania, the United Kingdom, Lithuania, and Latvia,” the FEZ Grodnoinvest administration informed. The CIS countries accounted for about 80% of the output ($360 million), the EU for 19% (about $89 million, an increase of 11%).
The FEZ Grodnoinvest exports saw the biggest increase to the UK (37 times), Romania (13 times), Czech Republic (11 times), Bulgaria (5 times), the Netherlands and France (4 times), Denmark and Brazil (3 times), Italy and Kenya (2 times). The major export items were timber and furniture, food and agricultural products, chemical goods and fertilizers, textiles, wires and cables.
