MINSK, 8 January (BelTA) – In 2018, the administration of the Grodnoinvest Free Economic Zone registered 15 new resident companies (mechanical engineering, woodworking and furniture, construction materials, chemical industry, logistics), BelTA has learned from the official website of the Grodnoinvest FEZ.
The total amount of committed investments exceeded €300 million.
“2018 was the year of logistics for us. Seven new resident companies from Russia, Belarus, Cyprus, Poland and China will be developing projects in this industry. The year FEZ Grodnoinvest registered its first resident company from China,” the FEZ representatives noted.
The Grodnoinvest FEZ started to develop the furniture cluster at its industrial site in Smorgon. This cluster's mission is to facilitate cooperation between the resident companies and to manufacture timber products with a high added value. Last year, the FEZ administration registered three resident companies in Smorgon including the big Polish furniture manufacturer Szynaka. Another woodworking company was registered in Grodno.
