MINSK, 21 April (BelTA) – In January-February 2023 the export of enterprises affiliated with Belarus' Industry Ministry to St. Petersburg expanded 3.3 times year-on-year, BelTA learned from the press service of the Industry Ministry.

In January-February 2023 the trade between companies overseen by the Industry Ministry and companies from St. Petersburg rose 2.1 times year-on-year. Thus, this year the trade increased at a greater pace than last year: in 2022 the trade between the Industry Ministry companies and enterprises from St. Petersburg grew by 78% over the previous year, the exports rose by 68%.

Belarusian manufacturers take an active part in the St. Petersburg transport reform (passenger vehicles), the renewal of the trolleybus fleet, the program to replace old elevators, and the reform of the courtyard maintenance system (utility vehicles: tractors, loaders).

Practical aspects of cooperation are discussed during the working visit of St. Petersburg Governor Alexander Beglov to Belarus. On 21 April he will tour Minsk Tractor Works where he will be shown an assembly line and an exposition of Belarusian engineering products. He will also visit Vavilov Minsk Mechanical Plant and get acquainted with the company's products (optoelectronic devices, brake system units for heavy vehicles, gas consumption meters) and new solutions in optoelectronic high-precision instrumentation.
