Export of Belarus' Bellegprom concern up 1.3 times in Q1

MINSK, 19 May (BelTA) – Enterprises of the Belarusian state light industry concern Bellegprom increased their export 1.3 times in the first quarter, BelTA learned from the concern.

The board of the concern held an offsite meeting at the Svitanak clothing company in Zhodino to review the performance of the companies affiliated with the Bellegprom concern in the first quarter of this year, to discuss plans for 2023 and a strategy to promote the Belarusian light industry goods to foreign markets.

This year the financial standing of the Bellegprom concern is quite good; the output, export and profitability targets are being met, the production costs have been reduced. In January - March 2023, 62% of the output (or almost $130 million) was exported, an increase of 1.3 times. The trade surplus was estimated at $76.4 million. The company shipped its products to 64 regions of the Russian Federation, the export to this market rose 1.6 times.

Chairwoman of the concern Tatiana Lugina thanked heads of Mogotex, Baranovichi Cotton Production Amalgamation, Lenta, Orsha Linen Mill and Dobrush Porcelain Factory for active participation in the national competition of professional skills ProfSkills Belarus 2023.

One of the issues discussed at the meeting was automation of business processes. Here the experience of Belcredo was analyzed. The participants of the meeting also considered the possibility of using exchange trade mechanisms to purchase and promote their products. According to Bellegprom, the plans and tasks for the first half of this year are just as big and ambitious.
