
MOSCOW, 13 April (BelTA) - The Eurasian Economic Forum scheduled for 24-25 May in Moscow will include some 35 events, the press service of the Eurasian Economic Commission told BelTA following the first meeting to discuss the preparations for the forum.
“The organizing committee has approved the concept of the forum, according to which the event program will include a plenary session and panel sessions (about 35 events in total). The program covers all topical areas of cooperation within the EAEU: scientific and technical cooperation, financial sector, industry and agriculture, climate agenda, energy, technical regulation and veterinary, development of EAEU internal market, electronic commerce, customs regulations, regional cooperation, public procurement, statistics, and others,” the press service said.
Chairman of the EEC Council, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Alexei Overchuk emphasized that the forum should become a platform for a direct dialogue between business and government agencies of the Eurasian Economic Union member states and discuss new ideas aimed at creating a favorable business climate in the Eurasian space.
“The theme of the forthcoming Eurasian Economic Forum is Eurasian Integration in the Multipolar World. It fully meets the tasks of Eurasian integration at a time when the world is facing new challenges. The purpose of the forum is to popularize the idea of the Union as an integration association in a multipolar world and to improve cooperative ties in the Eurasian space,” Alexei Overchuk said.
According to Chairman of the Collegium of the Eurasian Economic Commission Mikhail Myasnikovich, the forum should contribute to further development of economic cooperation of the EAEU countries, establishment of reliable links between business entities, achievement of a synergistic effect from combining investment and innovation potentials.
The Eurasian Economic Forum is an annual business event of the Eurasian Economic Union, hosted by the EAEU state presiding over the EAEU bodies - the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council and the EEC Council. The forum is held following the decision of the EAEU heads of state. The event is attended by heads of large, medium and small businesses of member states and third countries, top officials of EAEU member states, heads and representatives of state authorities, and also heads and members of governments of third countries, representatives of international, scientific and educational organizations interested in developing cooperation with the EAEU. The First Eurasian Economic Forum was held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan on 26 May 2022.
