Eurasian Economic Commission notices dedollarization trend in transactions inside EAEU

MOSCOW, 23 September (BelTA) – The Eurasian Economic Commission has noticed a dedollarization trend in transactions inside the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), BelTA learned from Iya Malkina, Aide to the Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission, during an online briefing on 23 September.

The official said: “There is already a tendency towards dedollarization inside the union and there is eagerness to make this transition more dynamic. Thus, the share of transactions in Russian rubles in mutual trade of the Eurasian Economic Union member states totaled 72.4% in 2019, 4.4 percentage points up from 2015.”

She added that the matter of dedollarization of transactions inside the Eurasian Economic Union is regularly discussed in the Eurasian Economic Commission.
