EEC Council to discuss ways to ensure free travel of citizens during COVID-19 pandemic

MOSCOW, 17 September (BelTA) – The Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) will discuss the development of mechanisms to ensure free travel of citizens of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) member states during the COVID-19 pandemic at the meeting on 18 September, BelTA learned from the EEC press service.

“Plans are in place to discuss the development of mechanisms aimed at ensuring free travel of citizens of the EAEU member states in view of the epidemiological situation and the newest methods to diagnose COVID-19,” the EEC informed.

The agenda of the EEC Council meeting includes a broad range of issues. For example, the council will mull over amendments to the list of services sectors (subsectors) falling within the common EAEU services market. This matter is also set to be considered by the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council.

“The EEC Council intends to discuss Russia's proposal to add to the common commodity nomenclature of the EAEU foreign economic activity certain types of polymers of ethylene in primary forms that are not produced in the EAEU as well as low-density polymers of ethylene that are produced in sufficient quantity,” the press service added.
