EAPO: Number of patent applications increasing amid sanctions

MINSK, 27 April (BelTA) - The number of applications to the Eurasian Patent Organization has been growing amid sanctions, President of the Eurasian Patent Office (EAPO) Grigory Ivliev told the media ahead of a meeting with Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Leonid Zayats in Minsk on 27 April, BelTA has learned.

According to him, in the context of sanctions, the number of applications to the Eurasian Patent Organization has not decreased. On the contrary, they have been growing. "Among them there are those that provide new opportunities for the already well-known inventions. Something is being improved, complemented. Import substitution is the main track for inventive activity and it must be supported," Grigory Ivliev said.

He stressed that the Eurasian Patent Organization will contribute to increased inventive activity, easing the application filing process. "We have large educational programs, specific projects for the training of both experts and other specialists in the field of intellectual property," the EAPO president added.
