
MOSCOW, 19 May (BelTA) – The Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) member states are harmonizing their positions on the formation of common markets for gas, oil and oil products, the press service of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) said following the meeting of the EAEU Council of Heads of Authorized Energy Authorities chaired by Member of the Board (Minister) on Energy and Infrastructure of the Eurasian Economic Commission Arzybek Kozhoshev, BelTA informs.
“The energy ministers of the Eurasian five have discussed the most pressing issues related to the formation of common markets for gas, oil and oil products, the operation of a common electricity market, rules of trade and functions of a centralized electricity trade operator,” the press service said.
Arzybek Kozhoshev urged to finally resolve long-standing issues and to engage in a constructive dialogue. “The search for solutions to sensitive issues will continue in a bilateral format and at a higher level in order to finalize and adopt basic documents on common markets as soon as possible,” he stressed.
“The energy ministers of the EAEU countries proposed to intensify bilateral consultations on the settlement of certain issues related to the functioning of common energy markets,” the press service added.
“In addition to that, Arzybek Kozhoshev spoke about the contribution of Belarus' Energy Minister Viktor Karankevich to the promotion of Eurasian integration and presented a commemorative badge to him on behalf of the Eurasian Economic Commission,” the EEC informed.
