EAEU countries show positive economic trends in 2021

MOSCOW, 30 April (BelTA) - Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission Mikhail Myasnikovich took note of the positive trends observed in the economies of the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) in early 2021 as he spoke at the meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in Kazan on 30 April, BelTA has learned.

“The manufacturing output has increased by 9% in Belarus, 7.5% in Kazakhstan, 1% in Russia. In the current period of 2021 mutual trade between the EAEU member-states increased by 6.8%. It increased most significantly in Russia - by 9.7%, in Belarus - 3.9% and Armenia - 2.5%,” Mikhail Myasnikovich said.

According to Mikhail Myasnikovich, 12 issues were included in the agenda of the two-day meeting. Eight of them were considered by the EAEU heads of government on 29 April. He emphasized that a number of issues on the agenda were prepared in the implementation of strategic directions of Eurasian integration until 2025, adopted by the Supreme Eurasian Council in December 2020, and also the approved plan for the strategy implementation. Mikhail Myasnikovich stressed that the business communities of the EAEU countries are actively involved in the implementation of the strategy. “We have planned and will certainly hold about 40 summits with the representatives of the business entities of our countries. I am confident that coordinated joint work of the governments, business and the EEC will help consolidate the positive trends in the economy that we saw in Q1 2021,” Mikhail Myasnikovich said.
