EAEU chambers of commerce discuss resumption of business activity amid pandemic

MINSK, 23 July (BelTA) - Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BelCCI) Vladimir Ulakhovich took part in the 12th videoconference meeting of the Advisory Council of the Chambers of Commerce the EAEU member states, BelTA learned from the BelCCI.

The conference discussed joint proposals on ways to resume business activity in the EAEU countries amid the pandemic, to promote the smooth and effective interaction of business, remove barriers to mutual trade.

At the initiative of the Belarusian side, the participants also discussed the terms of access of industrial goods of the EAEU countries to public procurement programs in Russia in view of the Russian Resolution No. 616 of 30 April 2020 "On establishing a ban on access of industrial goods originating from foreign states to procurement for public and municipal needs as well as industrial goods originating from foreign States, works (services) performed (rendered) by foreign persons to procurement for national defense and state security needs”. Representatives of the chambers of commerce identified a set of measures to resolve controversial issues and outlined priority joint steps to ensure equal access of goods to the markets of the EAEU countries, the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry noted.

The meeting was attended by President of the Armenian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Martin Sargsyan, Chairman of the Board of the Foreign Trade Chamber Ayan Erenov of Kazakhstan, Senior Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kyrgyzstan Amangeldy Davletaliev, Vice President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vladimir Padalko and Advisor to the President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Georgy Petrov.
