MINSK, 22 October (BelTA) – The electric bus service may soon connect the satellite city of Smolevichi and the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone, Deputy Chairman of the Architecture and Construction Committee of the Minsk Oblast Executive Committee, Chief Architect for Minsk Oblast Vadim Nikolayenko told BelTA.
According to Vadim Nikolayenko, the development of the China-Belarus Industrial Park opens up new prospects for the region. Housing construction has recently received a boost. On 27 August the first dwelling for 156 enhanced-comfort apartments was commissioned in the park. More housing construction projects will be implemented in the city. This requires changes in approaches to transport services and the construction of social facilities.
“An action plan has been developed for Smolevichi. Plans are in place to supply electric buses to launch a service to connect the city with the Great Stone Park. There is an agreement on China's technical assistance here,” Vadim Nikolayenko said.
The new vehicles will be purchased next year. “The implementation of the plan will depend on the needs,” the specialist added.
Plans are also in place to launch a railway service to connect the Belarusian capital and Minsk National Airport. “The new service will add comfort to commuting,” Vadim Nikolayenko said.
In his words, Decree No.267 has been worked up to decide on the mechanism to allocate Minsk budget funds to housing construction and also the development of the social, engineering and transport infrastructure of Dzerzhinsk, Zaslavl, Logoisk, Fanipol, Smolevichi and Rudensk. In March, Decree No.103 was signed to build a multi-flat dwelling in Smolevichi in 2019-2020 for Minsk residents who are on the waiting list to improve their living standards. Similar housing projects will be implemented in other satellite cities.
“When all the financial expenses were on the Minsk Oblast budget, it was very difficult to develop satellite cities. Now there are other sources of financing. Business has also revived and started to show interest,” said Vadim Nikolayenko.
Head of the Great Stone Administration Aleksandr Yaroshenko spoke about the possibility of launching the e-bus service between the Great Stone and Smolevichi at the meeting of Chairman of the Council of the Republic Mikhail Myasnikovich and representatives of the leading Chinese media.
A project to produce super condensers has been implemented in the Great Stone Park. Super condensers are used in the production of electric buses. The product is characterized by reduced charging time (up to six minutes).
On 2 July 2019, during the Belt and Road Forum for Regional Cooperation and Development, the E433 Vitovt Max Electro bus ran through the park to present the joint products of Belkommunmash and Chengdu Xinzhu Silk Road Development.More about Economy
