Discussion about distribution of customs duties between EAEU countries to be continued

MOSCOW, 18 January (BelTA) – Discussion about the distribution of import customs duties among countries of the Eurasian Economic Union will be continued, including at the level of the prime ministers, BelTA learned from Tigran Sargsyan, Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission, after the session of the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission in Moscow on 18 January.

Tigran Sargsyan reminded that the presidents of the EAEU member states had instructed the Eurasian Economic Commission to continue working on splitting the customs duties in order to work out a compromise.

During the session of the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission on 18 January the sides expressed their views on what alternatives may be available in order to move the discussion to the level of the prime ministers, noted Tigran Sargsyan.

For now the distribution scheme looks like this: Armenia gets 1.22% of the total, Belarus – 4.56%, Kazakhstan – 7.055%, Kyrgyzstan – 1.9%, and Russia – 85.265%. Belarus believes that the scheme deprives the country of about 1% of the import customs duties.
