MINSK, 8 October (BelTA) – The price for Russian natural gas for Belarus will be determined once the roadmaps to implement the Belarus-Russia tighter integration action program are ready, BelTA learned from Belarusian Energy Minister Viktor Karankevich during the Belarusian Energy and Ecology Forum on 8 October.
The official said: “We are working on the roadmaps. The matter of natural gas prices will be discussed after these roadmaps are ready.”
The energy minister specified that the relevant ministries had set up working groups to look into these matters. Experts are also discussing matters of pricing.
“You just have to wait till these roadmaps are ready. Vigorous work on them is in progress, including at the level of heads of the relevant ministries,” Viktor Karankevich added.
BelTA reported earlier that a draft action program on integration within the framework of the Union State of Belarus and Russia was reconciled at the level of the prime ministers of Belarus and Russia in early September. The sides now have to work out 31 roadmaps to implement the action program.
In 2019 Belarus pays $127 per 1,000m3 of Russian natural gas.More about Economy
