Customs services of Belarus, Finland to assist bona fide traders

MINSK, 14 November (BelTA) - Issues of improving the legal framework of bilateral cooperation were discussed at the meeting between Chairman of the State Customs Committee of Belarus Yuri Senko and Finnish Customs Director General Antti Hartikainen, BelTA learned from the press service of the State Customs Committee.

Mutual recognition of the status of the approved economic operator has been acquiring special importance taking into account the global trend of improving customs operations in assisting bona fide participants in foreign economic activity. The heads of customs services discussed the possibility of concluding an agreement on the mutual recognition of the status.

The parties also outlined steps of further cooperation between the customs services in personnel training.

The customs services of the two countries regularly exchange positive experience, which helps them elaborate joint solutions in the customs sector, the State Customs Committee said.
