CIS agreement on use of cellular communication in for amendment

MOSCOW, 16 May (BelTA) – The CIS countries are set to introduce amendments to the agreement on cooperation in the development and use of cellular communication systems of 17 January 1997. The corresponding draft protocol was considered at a meeting of the Commission of Economic Affairs of the CIS Economic Council in Minsk on 16 May, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian embassy in Russia.

The participants of the meeting also discussed a plan of action on the implementation of the agreement on cooperation between the CIS countries in handling electronic and electrical equipment waste, the activities of the CIS Interstate Council for Exhibition and Congress Activities and the CIS Interstate Council for Cooperation in Sci-Tech and Innovation Areas. The agenda of the meeting also included proposals for the implementation of the convention on the CIS cross-border cooperation.

“The members of the commission got familiar with the state of competition in the markets of non-metallic building materials in the CIS countries and the information on fee contribution by CIS member states to the CIS unified budget in 2018,” the press service added.

Belarus' Ambassador to Russia Igor Petrishenko took part in the work of the Commission for Economic Affairs under the CIS Economic Council.
