MINSK, 17 April (BelTA) – Chambers of commerce and industry should coordinate the interaction between businesses of the EAEU member states, Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BelCCI) Vladimir Ulakhovich told journalists ahead of the video conference meeting of the Advisory Council of the Chambers of the EAEU member states hosted by the BelCCI on 17 April, BelTA has learned.

“In order to advance our integration and address the problems that we have faced recently, we need to coordinate the interaction between businesses of our five countries. The share of small and medium-sized enterprises in each country is large, including in the manufacturing sector. They should not be neglected, this is why our chambers of commerce and industry should coordinate work and make the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) aware of these issues, so that the next package of measures was relevant and as effective as possible,” Vladimir Ulakhovich stressed.

According to him, each country has already adopted certain measures and the chambers of commerce and industry need to exchange the most effective practices. They will lay the basis for further cooperation and coordination. “This concerns easing financial burden, the tax policy, and a lot of other matters. Chambers of commerce and industry provide a service that, unfortunately, is very popular now, which is confirming force majeure circumstances. We have agreed with our partners in the five countries to carry out the required procedure and issue a certificate in one day, because these problems have affected not only our exporters and importers. This is why our joint coordinated work should be aimed at providing the fastest possible legal assistance for enterprises,” Vladimir Ulakhovich said.

He noted that it is important to maintain the progress in industrial cooperation and help the most vulnerable sectors of the economy and business, such as tourism and the hospitality industry. “At today's meeting, we expect to develop a package of measures for the EEC that would take into account the current capabilities of the Eurasian Development Bank. Only cooperation will truly help us handle all the difficulties,” Vladimir Ulakhovich believes.
