BUCE ready to facilitate Belarusian exports to Serbia

MINSK, 19 October (BelTA) – The Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE) is ready to facilitate export of Belarusian goods to Serbia, BelTA learned from the BUCE press service.

Representatives of the BUCE met with the company Balkan BY that was set up with the participation of BK Group (Serbia) to discuss prospects for export of Belarusian products to Serbia and other Balkan countries. The parties discussed how the exchange can help increase Belarus-Serbia trade and specified the most promising Belarusian and Serbian goods that could be effectively marketed via the BUCE.

“Promotion of Belarusian exports is one of the main goals of the BUCE. This is why we are keen to make a wider use of the exchange mechanism in trade between our countries. If your company is able to attract Serbian companies to the exchange, we are ready to provide the necessary support for their activities in the Belarusian market,” BUCE Chairman of the Board Aleksandr Osmolovsky said.

Enterprises from Serbia, Slovakia, and Romania often contact our company because they want to sell or buy something in Belarus, Balkan BY Director Konstantin Pronkin said. According to him, this is a very promising avenue of cooperation. “As a broker, we could redirect all these enterprises to the exchange. We would not like to limit ourselves only to the Balkan Peninsula. For example, we have a network of business contacts in North Africa, which is a large market for Belarusian timber and other products. I believe this is a good opportunity to expand into new markets,” he noted.

Founded in 2004, the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange conducted its first trading in June 2005. The BUCE is one of the largest commodity exchanges in Eastern Europe. Its main function is to assist Belarusian enterprises with exporting products and foreign companies with entering the Belarusian market. The exchange sells a wide range of metal, forestry, and agricultural products, industrial and consumer goods.
