BUCE is also working to expand the use of the transit transaction mechanism. It is creating a pool of sawn wood suppliers from Russia's Smolensk Oblast, Bryansk Oblast, and Pskov Oblast that are keen to sell their products not only to Belarus, but also to other countries, including the EU member state, China, the United Kingdom, and Egypt.

The forum brought together more than 120 companies of the Chinese forestry industry and leading experts from European and Asian countries. The organizers were LEF Network China (a project to promote supplies of timber products from Europe to China) and the company Tao Wood (China's big importer of timber products).
