Broad money supply in Belarus up by 10.5% in December

MINSK, 13 January (BelTA) – As of 1 January 2023 the broad money supply in Belarus amounted to Br61.239 billion, up by 10.5% from 1 December2022, BelTA learned from the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus (NBRB). Broad money supply includes cash in circulation and money in bank accounts of individuals and corporations.

Cash in circulation rose by 7.4% to Br6.893 billion in December 2022.

Transferable deposits went up by 16.6% to Br11.413 billion.

The money supply in national terms amounted to Br29.966 billion, up by 9.9% up in December.

The volume of national currency securities issued by banks (outside bank circulation) went down by 21% in December to Br1.205 billion.

The ruble money supply amounted to Br31.172 billion as of 1 January, up by 8.3% from 1 December.

The volume of foreign currency deposits went up by 13.7% to Br29.398 billion.
