MINSK, 14 August (BelTA) – As of 1 August 2020 the broad money supply in Belarus amounted to Br51.186 billion, 0.7% up from 1 July, BelTA learned from the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus (NBRB). Broad money supply includes cash in circulation and bank accounts of individuals and corporations.
Cash in circulation grew by 1.9% to Br4.192 billion in July.
Transferable deposits went down by 3.6% to Br6.243 billion. Transferable deposits of individuals dropped by 0.2% to Br3.37 billion as of 1 August. Deposits of companies shrank by 7.2% to Br2.873 billion.
As of 1 August the money supply in national terms amounted to Br19.542 billion, 3.6% down in July.
The volume of national currency securities issued by banks (outside bank circulation) dropped by 4.3% in July to Br1.431 billion.
The ruble money supply amounted to Br20.974 billion as of 1 August, 3.6% down from 1 July.
The volume of foreign currency deposits rose by 4.6% to Br28.93 billion.
The volume of foreign currency securities issued by banks (outside banking) went down by 11.2% in July to Br1.17 billion.
