Brest to showcase services, sites at travel expo in Vilnius

MINSK, 8 January (BelTA) – Plans are in place to showcase the Brest tourism and recreation zone at the International Exhibition on Tourism and Active Leisure ADVENTUR 2019 in Vilnius on 25-27 January, BelTA has learned from Denis Nikityuk, the head of the tourism section of the sport and tourism department at the Brest Oblast Executive Committee.

The health resorts Nadzeya, Ruzhansky and Brestagrozdravnitsa, which are situated in the visa-free zone, will be featured in the Vilnius expo alongside Belovezhskaya Pushcha National Park and the Mukhovetska Kumora tourism cluster of ten agro-estates of Kobrin District and Zhabinka District. The Brest delegation will also include representatives of a dozen travel agencies and the sport and tourism department of the Brest Oblast Executive Committee

The participants will participate in ADVENTUR with the unified Brest Oblast stand. The National Tourism Agency will draw up several reports on the region and on the Brest tourism and recreation zone.

“This season we are determined to branch out into the new market of tourism services. Vilnius is only a beginning. We are planning to participate in similar exhibitions in Riga and Tallinn. The Baltic states are in general very promising in this respect. Last year, for example, Lithuanians were the second most frequent visa-free tourists in Brest Oblast after Poles,” Denis Nikityuk noted.

A total of 18,500 visa-free tourists visited Brest Oblast in 2018. Some 13,000 of them were from Poland. Lithuanians (2,500), Germans, Latvians ans Czechs were also among frequent visitors.
