Brest to present its economic potential in Slovakia

BREST, 28 February (BelTA) - The Brest Office of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BelCCI), with the support of the Belarusian Embassy in Slovakia, is organizing a business visit to the city of Presov on 25-27 March, Denis Nepsha, the head of the foreign economic cooperation department of the BelCCI regional office, told BelTA.

“An agreement on this was reached last September. The head of the Presov branch of the Slovak Chamber of Commerce and Industry visited Brest for the city's 1000th anniversary celebrations. The parties signed an agreement on cooperation in 2020 and agreed on a business visit of Belarusian producers to Presov,” Denis Nepsha said.

The program of the visit includes a business matchmaking event, visits to enterprises and and getting acquainted with the tourism potential of the Presov region. During the visit, the Brest manufacturers will hold a presentation of economic potential of the city and the Brest free economic zone.

The Slovak side expresses interest in meeting with Belarusian producers to discuss supplies and cooperation in such industries as IT, engineering, electrical engineering, energy, peat and fuel pellets, light industry (fabrics, textiles, knitwear, bedding and underwear), liquor products, furniture, and timber. The hosts of the meeting are ready to consider setting up a joint venture to grow herbs, increasing tourist flows.

In turn, Brest hopes to see representatives of the Slovak business community at the fifth B2B Contact Fair in April.
