BREST, 15 November (BelTA) – The first regional entrepreneurship forum in Brest will be held on 21 November as part of the Global Entrepreneurship Week, BelTA learned from the organizers of the forum.
The event will be held with financial support from the European Union and the United Nations Development Program under the auspices of the Belarusian Economy Ministry. The main goal of the event is to highlight the role of business in sustainable development of regions. The forum will bring together representatives of the private sector, national and local government agencies, public councils, organizations that promote private initiative, and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
Participants of the forum will discuss a wide range of matters regarding business support infrastructure. They are also set to study modern tendencies and international experience in stimulating innovation in entrepreneurship, alternative business funding, and financial technology for SMEs development. Experts will speak about development of new business models and innovations within a company. The program of the forum will also include the panel discussion “Business environment in regions: role, problems, prospects” dedicated to the key problems of regional business development.
The forum will also feature the national Mentor of the Year award ceremony to honor leading organizations that support entrepreneurship and startups in Belarus. The winner will be chosen by the organizing committee of the Global Entrepreneurship Week and will be awarded by Belarus Economy Minister Dmitry Krutoi.
The Global Entrepreneurship Week will be running on 18-24 November. The main events of the week include the 9th international entrepreneurship forum scheduled to take place in Minsk on 19 November, the conferences FinTech Day and Investor's Factory, and the competition of startups Belbiz Battle. This year's Global Entrepreneurship Week in Belarus will focus on regional development. For example, Pinsk is set to host the regional business forum Simple Answers to Difficult Questions on 19 November. The event will be held with support of the entrepreneurship department of the Brest Oblast administration and Belgazprombank. The business forum will feature top specialists in regional business development and taxation.
Belarus has marked the Global Entrepreneurship Week since 2011. It is a worldwide initiative that takes place in 170 countries and is meant to promote entrepreneurship, encourage business cooperation, and find new ideas.More about Economy
