GOMEL, 25 September (BelTA) – The Belarusian steel mill BMZ will introduce its business partners to the company's innovative development plans during the fourth conference of suppliers that will be held on the sidelines of the international forum “Foundry and Metallurgy 2018. Belarus” that will take place in Minsk on 17-18 October, BelTA learned from the company's spokesman Alexander Olesik.
The fourth international conference of BMZ suppliers will be hosted by the Belarusian National Technical University and will gather about 100 business partners of the company from all over the world.
The partners will be told about the company's innovative development plans. The participants of the conference will discuss the principles of evaluation and selection of suppliers in line with BMZ's quality management system. The company will inform its partners about the results of the tenders held in 2015-2017.
Six suppliers with an impeccable track record will be awarded the Best Supplier or Reliable Supplier titles. Winners will be selected in three categories: Raw Materials; Materials; and Equipment and Instruments.
The Belarusian steel mill BMZ is constantly working to expand the choice of potential suppliers, which will increase competition between them and consequently improve the efficiency of procurement, Alexander Olesik said. In 2017 alone, the technical service of the company tested sample batches of over 130 materials and articles: 64 of them passed the tests, while 43 are still undergoing evaluation. This work saved the company over $10 million.
This conference of suppliers will be held for the fourth time already. Similar events took place in 2011, 2012 and 2014.
