NUCLEAR POWER IN BELARUS AND WORLDWIDE
GOMEL, 15 December (BelTA) – The Belarusian industrial group Belorusneft intends to develop a cluster for extracting hydrocarbons and providing oil industry services in Russia, BelTA learned from Belorusneft Director General Aleksandr Lyakhov.
Belorusneft bought the Russian oil company Yangpur about ten years ago. “We believe the project is a success. We've increased the extraction of hydrocarbons since then. If we talk about the total equivalent of oil and gases, it is practically a 10 time increase in volumes,” the executive said.
According to the source, Belorusneft has been actively buying new licenses and commercial properties in Russia's territory for the last few years. This process is purely commercial and competitive. “We intend to advance in this direction in the next few years because we have virtually created a cluster in Russia's Western Siberia that specializes in the extraction of oil and gas and provides oil industry services,” Aleksandr Lyakhov noted.
