MINSK, 25 February (BelTA) – Belneftekhim will stay committed to the strategy of smoothly changing prices for automobile fuel, BelTA learned from Deputy Chairman of the Belarusian state petrochemical concern Belneftekhim Vladimir Sizov on 25 February.
Vladimir Sizov said: “Prices for oil products on the domestic market are adjusted smoothly by Br0.01 in line with the approved strategy. Prices are on the rise now but in the past we used to lower them in steps of Br0.01 as well.”
The official reminded that the price for automobile fuel depends on several factors: the cost of raw materials, contracts with suppliers, the tax burden, and the exchange rate of the Belarusian ruble against foreign currencies.
“We have to buy oil in exchange for foreign currency, this is why fluctuations of the currency exchange rate affect the cost of oil products, too,” he explained.
Vladimir Sizov pointed out that if the price for oil rises by 10-15%, they do not raise prices for oil products that much – the prices are adjusted in increments of Br0.01 instead.
