Bellesbumprom busy restoring pandemic-stricken output, export

MINSK, 20 August (BelTA) – Enterprises of the Belarusian timber, woodworking, pulp and paper industry concern Bellesbumprom are busy restoring the volumes of output and export, which have been affected by the pandemic, BelTA has learned.

According to the source, the enterprises are working smoothly, with the industry's output and export figures steadily rising after falling in April-May due to the coronavirus pandemic.

In January-July 2020 Bellesbumprom's output rose by 2.1% from the same period of last year to exceed Br1 billion. The stock in storage is not rising, products are being smoothly shipped to customers.

More than 71% of the output is exported. The geography of export is close to 60 countries. About 52% of the exports is shipped to non-CIS states.

According to the latest data, in January-July Bellesbumprom enterprises exported more than $322 million worth of merchandise. The figure is close to the one registered in January-July 2019 when the market did not shrink due to such important reasons as coronavirus-induced quarantine measures.

The Bellesbumprom press service attributed the stable operation of the concern's enterprises to the responsible attitude to work and daily efforts of employees at all the enterprises.
