MINSK, 21 February (BelTA) – The BelGee car manufacturer produced almost 25,000 cars in 2022, BelGee Director General, member of the board of the Belarusian Automobile Association Gennady Svidersky told a press conference to sum up the performance of the Belarusian automotive industry in 2022, BelTA has learned.
According to him, the past year was tough for the company since supply chains changed. “We produced 24,833 vehicles in 2022. It was less than in 2021 when the output was 30,000 cars. It was all because of the adjustments we had to make during the year. We settled all these issues only in the fourth quarter,” Gennady Svidersky said.
The BelGee plant was officially opened on 17 November 2017. The company is located between Borisov and Zhodino and occupies an area of 118 hectares. Its production capacity is up to 60 thousand cars per year with the possibility of further increase. Belarus-assembled Geely vehicles are certified according to the requirements of the technical regulations of the Customs Union and tested according to the EuroNCAP methodology (the tests involve such tests as frontal, side impact, etc.).
