MINSK, 8 April (BelTA) – The Belarus-based passenger car manufacturer BelGee increased export to Russia 2.5 times in the first quarter of 2020, BelTA learned from the company.

According to BelGee, it manufactured 5,059 cars in Q1 2020, up 1.6 times year-on-year. All in all, 5,230 cars were sold, up 1.8 times over January-March 2019. Some 2,525 cars were sold in Belarus, up 1.4 times year-on-year. Deliveries to Russia rose 2.5 times, with 2,705 cars exported there in the first quarter.

Earlier, BelGee rolled out a new crossover Geely Coolray and a Geely Geometry A electric car. “The electric car has an adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, traffic sign recognition and automated parking. The car boasts advanced materials and solutions,” the company emphasized.

Early April saw the market launch of Geely Atlas cars equipped with the Yandex.Auto multimedia system. “This is a convenient and user-friendly onboard computer with useful functions. The interface allows a driver to use several functions at a time. For example, a driver can follow a navigator and switch music. If a service is inactive, a message still pops up on the screen. This way the program will warn about snow or strong wind, a navigator will inform about repair works on the road or about speed limits. The onboard computer can be operated manually or with one's voice,” the company informed.

This year BelGee has plans to sell 28,000 vehicles, including 18,000 cars in Russia and 10,000 cars domestically.
