BelCCI Vitebsk Office to cooperate with Czech Chamber of Trade and Industry

VITEBSK, 30 October (BelTA) – The Vitebsk Office of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BelCCI) and the Czech Chamber of Trade and Industry have signed a cooperation agreement, BelTA has learned.

The document was signed by the heads of the organizations in Vitebsk during the Belarusian-Czech business forum on 30 October. The forum brought together representatives of Belarusian companies and the Czech delegation led by Czechia Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Martin Tlapa.

Martin Tlapa welcomed the high level of cooperation and growing trade between the Czech Republic and Vitebsk Oblast of Belarus. He noted that Czechia is eager to step up cooperation. He described the interaction between Minsk Oblast and Czechia's Vysocina Region as an example of successful cooperation. “Vitebsk Oblast is also of interest to us as it is a large industrial region. We already have examples of successful business cooperation with Vitebsk Oblast. We believe that our common interests lie in manufacturing water treatment systems and launching projects in agriculture and advanced technology,” Martin Tlapa said.

He expressed confidence that this meeting will lay the basis for advancing bilateral relations and thanked Belarusian colleagues for help in organizing the event.

Two investment projects with Czech investment are implemented in the territory of the free economic zone (FEZ) Vitebsk. In 2004, the FEZ Vitebsk registered the company Fortex – Water Technologies, in 2017 – the Cylinders-Bel company that specializes in making seamless steel cylinders. The ceremony to launch the enterprise and the manufacturing process are scheduled for 5 November. At the MSV International Engineering Fair in Brno, the FEZ administration and senior managers of the company signed a protocol of intent to continue developing business in the FEZ Vitebsk.
