Belaruskali's new fertilizer factory to start manufacturing by year end

MINSK, 5 September (BelTA) – The Petrikovsky mining and processing factory will begin making potash fertilizers by the end of the year, BelTA learned from Belaruskali Director General Ivan Golovaty during the conference Argus FSU Fertilizer 2019 Ї Production, Trading and Logistics in the CIS and Baltics on 5 September.

The CEO said: “The Petrikovsky mining and processing factory is the key investment project now. Investments in the project will total $1.5 billion. We expect the first batch of mineral fertilizers to be made by December.”

The Petrikovsky mining and processing factory will be able to make 1.5 million tonnes of potash fertilizers per annum with an option to raise the output to 3 million tonnes. The enterprise is expected to make 300,000 tonnes of fertilizers in 2020 and 800,000 tonnes in 2021. The enterprise will reach its designed output capacity of 1.5 million tonnes of fertilizers per annum in 2023.

The public joint-stock company (OAO) Belaruskali is one of the world's largest producers and exporters of potash fertilizers. The company comprises four mine administrations, auxiliary and support divisions.

The construction of the Petrikovsky mining and processing factory is Belaruskali's largest investment project. The project provides for building a mine and a sylvinite beneficiation plant.
