Belaruskali to up fertilizer output capacity to 15.5m tonnes by 2025

MINSK, 5 September (BelTA) – The Belarusian potassium mining and fertilizer manufacturing company Belaruskali will increase its fertilizer output capacity to 15.5 million tonnes per annum by 2025, BelTA learned from Belaruskali Director General Ivan Golovaty on 5 September.

According to the source, once the Petrikovsky mining and processing factory is commissioned and reaches the designed output capacity of 1.5 million tonnes of fertilizers in 2023, once the existing factories and mines are upgraded, Belaruskali's output capacity will rise up to 15.5 million tonnes per annum by 2025. Output figures in specific years will depend on the state and dynamics of the potash market, Ivan Golovaty remarked.

The company's new potassium nitrate factory is supposed to make the first products in September 2019. Ivan Golovaty pointed out that it has been virtually one year between the moment the factory's construction began and the first products are manufactured. Two manufacturing lines will allow making 160,000 tonnes of potassium nitrate per annum. The construction of the first line is nearly over.

The public joint-stock company (OAO) Belaruskali is one of the world's largest producers and exporters of potash fertilizers. The company comprises four mine administrations, auxiliary and support divisions.
