
MINSK, 31 May (BelTA) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to South Africa Aleksandr Sidoruk visited one of Africa's oldest and largest agricultural expos Royal Show in Pietermaritzburg, Kwazulu-Natal Province on 31 May, representatives of the Belarusian diplomatic mission in South Africa told BelTA.
More than 117,000 people from various parts of Africa visited the expo. They had an opportunity to see 478 expositions of machines, vehicles, and equipment, fertilizers and seeds, processing technologies used by farming enterprises. More than 4,000 kinds of poultry and animals were showcased at the expo.
A Belarusian tractor assembled under the South African brand GANDAGANDA was showcased for the first time. The ambassador took part in the exposition's work. He held negotiations with top managers of the South African company, which expects Belarusian tractors to occupy a niche on the markets of South Africa and neighboring countries.
The interest of South African farmers in Belarusian agricultural machines was noted. Belarusian agricultural machines are known as simple to use and repair. They are reliable and long-lasting.
The embassy pointed out that persistent work is in progress to expand the presence of Belarusian goods on South African markets.
