Belarusian technical regulations presented at China International Import Expo

MINSK, 5 November (BelTA) – The State Standardization Committee of Belarus will present the national technical regulations system during the China International Import Expo, which opened in Shanghai on 5 November, the committee's press service told BelTA.

The State Standardization Committee of Belarus will also present its subordinate organizations – the Belarusian State Standardization and Certification Institute (BelGISS), the Belarusian State Metrology Institute (BelGIM), and the Belarusian State Center for Accreditation. Visitors will be able to get familiar with Belarus' technical regulations system, practices in the area of standardization, metrology, conformance evaluation, accreditation, and capabilities of the BelGISS testing center. Belarusian specialists will also take part in the business program of the expo.

In response to requests of the Belarusian production sector the state standardization authority works closely with the relevant Chinese agencies to harmonize technical regulations, standardization systems, ensure uniformity in measurements, accreditation, and oversight.

In the zone housing pavilions of individual countries visitors will be able to get familiar with Belarus' scientific, technical, historical, and cultural potential. In the zone set up for companies and the private sector products and services by over 80 Belarusian companies are on display.

The China International Import Expo will last till 10 November. It is taking place in the world's largest exhibition complex, which area exceeds 1.5 million m2. Over 2,800 companies from 130 countries are expected to take part in the expo. The number of wholesale buyers is expected to reach 150,000. The expo has been organized by the Chinese Commerce Ministry and the Shanghai Municipal Government. The event is taking place under the aegis of the World Trade Organization and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).
