
MINSK, 17 March (BelTA) – Head of Belarusian Railways Vladimir Morozov has met with Head of Privolzhskaya Railways, a branch of Russian Railways, Sergei Almeyev, BelTA learned from the press center of Belarusian Railways.
The parties discussed cooperation as part of the International North-South Transport Corridor (INSTC) project. They pointed to the increasing demand for cargo transportation along this route. The volume of cargo transportation along the land route of the North-South Transport Corridor and through the Caspian Sea is on the rise; new effective transport and logistics schemes and transportation terms are being developed.
In this regard, the chiefs of the Belarusian and Russian railway operators discussed matters related to the railway and port infrastructure development, as well as the prospects of using new transport and logistics schemes within the International North-South Transport Corridor to transport Belarusian products.
The head of Belarusian Railways invited his Russian counterpart to take part in the international conference “2023. Railway Logistics: Relevant Development Tasks” that will be held by Belarusian Railways in Minsk on 30 March. The conference will be supported by the Transport and Communications Ministry.
