Belarusian oil service company to develop new gas field in Siberia

GOMEL, 30 December (BelTA) – Belarusian oil service specialists are taking steps to gradually start developing a new natural gas field in Siberia, BelTA learned from Director of OAO Oil Company Yangpur Aleksandr Polyakov.

Oil Company Yangpur has been part of the Belarusian industrial group Belorusneft since 2013. It has quintupled natural gas extraction thanks to a new natural gas field consisting of six wells in the Metelnoye field in Russia. The first and second stages of the site have been commissioned.

According to Aleksandr Polyakov, the site produces 1.5 million m3 of natural gas and 170 tonnes of gas condensate every day. There are plans to extract a total of over 231 million m3 of natural gas and nearly 33,000 tonnes of gas condensate in 2019. The company will increase extraction in 2020 thanks to reconstruction and construction of new facilities. There are plans to commission the third production stage in early March. It will allow raising the designed output capacity of the natural gas field to over 2.2 million m3 of natural gas and 250 tonnes of gas condensate per day.

Oil Company Yangpur specialists are about to start developing a new licensed site in Russia. The company has lately won a tender for the right to develop the Yuzhno-Tydeottinsky licensed site. It occupies an area of 493.5km2. The company is intent on geological surveying, exploration, and extraction of hydrocarbon resources. The site is located in Purovsk District, Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District, Russia. It is adjacent to the northern border of the Izvestinsky licensed site Oil Company Yangpur is already developing.

Aleksandr Polyakov said: “It is the first acquisition in the Belarusian history of Yangpur Company. It is an absolutely new asset. Geological prospecting is in progress now.”

So far the company has all reasons to believe the development of the site will allow greatly increasing the volume of extraction of hydrocarbon resources. Aleksandr Polyakov stressed that this year Oil Company Yangpur has set a new extraction record in the entire history of the company.

The Belarusian industrial group Belorusneft was founded in 1966. The company specializes in exploration, prospecting, and development of oil fields, well drilling, extraction of oil and associated petroleum gas. Belorusneft also offers oil industry services in other countries. Yangpur Company represents Belorusneft on the Russian market of oil and natural gas extraction. It takes care of exploration, prospecting, and development of seven fields in the Izvestinsky licensed site in Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District.
