Belarusian MTZ ready to sell more tractors to Russia's Bashkortostan

MOSCOW, 12 December (BelTA) – Higher sales of MTZ tractors in Bashkortostan were discussed during a meeting of the head of the Ufa office of the Belarusian embassy in Russia Piotr Baltrukovich, Deputy Agriculture Minister of Bashkortostan Pavel Iofinov, Commercial Director of OOO TPK MTZ-Tatarstan Company Vladimir Petukhov, and top managers of the Bashselkhoztekhnika enterprise, the press service of the Embassy of Belarus in Russia told BelTA.

The sides discussed ways to enable optimal conditions for supplying MTZ tractor assembly kits in response to Bashselkhoztekhnika requests. The conversation also touched upon making the Russian enterprise an MTZ dealership, the expansion of the lineup of manufactured products, and promising avenues of future cooperation of agricultural enterprises with Belarusian manufacturers of agricultural machines.

Deputy Agriculture Minister of Bashkortostan Pavel Iofinov said that a number of repair enterprises in the Russian region worked to upgrade MTZ tractors in 2019 by replacing basic components with new ones. About 50 tractors have been upgraded this year. In January-November Bashkortostan received 174 MTZ tractors, 157% as against 2018.

The head of the Ufa office of the Belarusian embassy in Russia Piotr Baltrukovich also met with Director of Orsha Tools Factory Kirill Ptushka and Director of OAO Minsk Gear Works Vitaly Sheleg. Both companies are part of the holding company MTZ. Orsha Tools Factory is now undergoing a massive upgrade. Once it is over, the factory will be able to make modern, high-precision, high-performance tools. Kirill Ptushka remarked that Bashkortostan is a promising target market for his company's products.

The management of the holding company MTZ sees considerable potential for cooperation of Orsha Tools Factory, Minsk Gear Works, and other MTZ companies with leading enterprises located in Bashkortostan. Those are primarily the Ufa engine manufacturing group ODK-UMPO, Kumertau Aviation Production Enterprise, and the industrial park Ufimsky.
