WUHAN, 16 May (BelTA) – Belarusian milk and juices sell well in the Chinese city of Wuhan, Hubei Province, BelTA learned from Yilin Zhang, head of the international economic ties department at Wuhan-Hankou Logistics Company.
The executive said that the company started buying milk and juices from Belarus in 2016 and increased import in 2017. The Belarusian dairy company Savushkin Product is the main supplier. It sends three to five railway containers to Hubei Province every month.
“All the Belarusian products are sold right away. Nothing stays on shop shelves,” stressed Yilin Zhang as she demonstrated Belarusian products in the company's international trade center.
Other European countries used to supply dairy products to this region of China. The products were delivered by sea to Shanghai, Guangzhou and then by land to Wuhan, which is located in central China. It is already obvious that participation in the Belt and Road initiative produces concrete results and facilitates tighter cooperation between Belarus and China. By the way, full containers are transported from Wuhan in the European direction and backwards. It is a good chance for Belarusian companies to sell their products to China.
A Belarusian delegation, which took part in the international seminar Belt and Road. Introduction to Hubei, visited the international trade center of Wuhan-Hankou Logistics Company on 16 May. A broad presentation of the investment potential of Belarus and Brest Oblast was arranged during the seminar.
