Belarusian manufacturers take part in Vietnam Expo

MINSK, 5 December (BelTA) – Belarus Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrei Dapkiunas took part in a ceremony to open the 16th edition of Vietnam Expo in Ho Chi Minh City, BelTA learned from the press service of the ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Andrei Dapkiunas is leading the delegation of Belarus that has been granted the status of exclusive guest of honor of Vietnam Expo. The deputy minister noted that the the Belarus national exposition has been awarded this honorable status thanks to the high level of Belarusian-Vietnamese partnership and mutual understanding. He also noted that Vietnam is a key partner of Belarus in the Southeast Asia region.

The national expo features more than 50 major Belarusian enterprises. The stand occupies 325m2 indoor exhibition space. The stand makes an emphasis on knowledge-based, sophisticated technological goods, agricultural products and foodstuffs. Andrei Dapkiunas introduced the Vietnamese partners to the best samples of the Belarusian export products, technologies and services.

The deputy minister met with the heads of leading Vietnamese companies - graduates of Belarusian universities. Agreements were reached on joint efforts to bolster ties in education, science, tourism, investment and trade.

Andrei Dapkiunas met with top managers of Mekong Machinery to discuss ways of increasing the supply of tractors to Vietnam and the countries of the region. The deputy minister highlighted the importance of developing an effective mechanism of promoting Belarusian agricultural equipment to Southeast Asia. He also touted the new model of compact tractor, which is manufactured in Belarus with traditionally high quality and reliability, that may have good sale prospects in the regional market.

The deputy minister met with Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Le Thanh Liem to discuss deliveries of Belarusian trucks and utility vehicles to Ho Chi Minh City and possible contribution of Belarusian economic entities to the development of transport infrastructure of the biggest economic hub of Vietnam.
