MINSK, 17 July (BelTA) – Enterprises accountable to the Belarusian Industry Ministry will sign agreements on cooperation and sales contracts with Russian companies during the 6th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia, which is taking place in St Petersburg on 16-18 July, BelTA has learned.
Belarusian BelAZ intends to sign agreements with the state development corporation VEB.RF and Belvnesheconombank on supporting the export of Belarusian-Russian products and an agreement with the government of Russia's Murmansk Oblast on building a BelAZ technical support center. BelAZ also intends to advance cooperation with the Saint-Petersburg Mining University and the International Center for Mining Technology Education Competence.
Minsk Electrotechnical Plant named after V.I. Kozlov will sign contracts to sell RUB230 million worth of power transformers and transformer substations to Russian companies. MLM Nevsky Lift intends to buy roughly RUB300 million worth of lift equipment from Belarusian Mogilevliftmash in 2019-2020 as part of replacement and major overhaul programs.
The Belarusian automaker MAZ and Promagroleasing-Tsentr will sign a contract on shipping 100 grain carriers. The Smorgon optic machine tools factory and OOO K2TOOL will sign a contract on the delivery of optic machine tools worth RUB5.54 million.
During the Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia Belarusian Industry Minister Pavel Utyupin is expected to meet with heads of regions of Russia and top officials of the Russian Industry and Trade Ministry. The sides are expected to discuss manufacturing cooperation and further trade and economic interaction. A Belarusian-Russian enterprise to make lifts was opened near St Petersburg on 16 July. In line with the project's business plan some lift making operations will be relocated from Mogilev to the joint venture in the first stage of the project.
In the last three years the mutual trade turnover between Belarusian Industry Ministry enterprises and Russia was close to $11 billion. Direct trade and economic relations have been established with 75 Russian regions. Belarus and constituent entities of the Russian Federation have signed 70 cooperation agreements. Belarus' oblasts, districts, cities, and towns and constituent entities of Russia have signed over 300 agreements. More than 8,000 Belarusian and Russian enterprises are connected by manufacturing cooperation schemes and supply each other with raw materials and components.
