MINSK, 4 October (BelTA) – The 24th Belarusian Energy and Ecology Forum will be held in the indoor football center in Minsk on 8-11 October, Belarus Deputy Energy Minister Olga Prudnikova told journalists in BelTA's press center.
“We have set up an organizing committee which has prepared the program of the forum which includes international conferences, workshops, roundtables, and an exhibition featuring more than 600 companies from 16 countries,” Olga Prudnikova said.
She pointed out that the Energy Ministry has organized the forum in association with the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Ministry, the State Science and Technology Committee, and the Energy Efficiency Department of the Belarusian State Committee for Standardization.
This year's Belarusian Energy and Ecology Forum includes international exhibitions Energy. Ecology. Energy Saving. The Energy Ministry will hold a joint event with the German Energy Agency DENA. “Using municipal solid waste as a source of electric power is still new to us. We will also cooperate in digitalization of the power sector and implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals,” Olga Prudnikova added.
Participants of the forum will showcase modern equipment and technologies for generating and distributing electrical and thermal energy, automated systems, energy- and resource-saving technologies.
Moreover, the forum will demonstrate new technologies for environmental protection, Belarus Deputy Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Minister Andrei Khmel said. Representatives of the ministry will take part in a lot of themed events.
“Energy and environmental protection are closely connected today. At the forum, we will discuss the topic of the Sustainable Development Goals. The Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Ministry is responsible for the implementation of 7 out of 17 SDGs, including the ones on reduction of emissions, preservation and responsible use of water resources,” Andrei Khmel noted. “I think that the Belarusian Energy and Ecology Forum will give an impetus to the development of technologies designed to protect the environment,” he added.More about Economy
